English Language Proficiency

The Fire Recruit Academy program is delivered entirely in the English language. There are no foreign language adaptions made. English proficiency is a U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) requirement for the Firefighter Academy.

Applicants whose native language is not English are required to submit proof of English proficiency to be eligible for review. English proficiency can be demonstrated via the English3 Proficiency Test (E3PT). This exam measures general and academic English proficiency. The E3PT is offered online anywhere in the world and can be completed at any time. Test takers will need a working webcam, microphone, and speakers, a reliable internet connection, and a quiet and well-lit room.

If you have questions about the English language proficiency requirement, please contact us at internationalstudents@teex.tamu.edu.
